Oxford Innovation Finance warmly congratulates OrganOx, an Oxford University spin-out, on
its acquisition by Terumo Corporation for $1.5 billion.
OrganOx raised some of its first external funding through
the OION Network in 2008, helping the business on its journey to developing
groundbreaking technology that keeps donated human organs viable for much
longer, significantly improving transplant outcomes and saving lives.
This success story highlights the importance of early-stage
investment and the role networks like OION can play in nurturing companies with
world-changing innovations. While it can take years for exits to crystallise,
the returns, both financial and societal, can be extraordinary.
