Oxford Innovation Finance has invested in Exact Comms through both the Oxford Innovation EIS Growth Fund and OION Angels, supporting the Northern Ireland-based technology company as it scales its contactless proof of presence platform internationally.
Exact Comms has developed a technology platform that enables organisations to automatically monitor staff presence, activity and compliance in real time, without relying on manual sign-ins, scans, apps or paperwork. Using Bluetooth tags and strategically placed beacons, the Exact Comms system automatically verifies the presence and activity of staff and assets within a facility. The resulting data is fed into a central platform, providing facility managers with accurate, real-time information and automated alerts that can help improve compliance, reduce human error and support more efficient operations.
The company has already established a growing international presence, with its technology supporting clients across five continents and partnerships in the UK, alongside relationships across the US, Middle East, Africa and Australia. Its solutions are being deployed across sectors including healthcare, retail, commercial property, education and industrial environments. Exact Comms is also continuing to expand the capabilities of its platform to give facilities teams a more detailed understanding of how their buildings, people and assets are being used, enabling them to make better-informed operational decisions.
The investment from Oxford Innovation Finance will support Exact Comms as it continues its international expansion, develops its technology and builds on its growing network of commercial partnerships. Exact Comms joins a portfolio of companies developing solutions across areas including artificial intelligence, advanced engineering, clean energy and healthcare.
Peter McCaul, Founder and CEO of Exact Comms, said: “We’re excited to have Oxford Innovation Finance supporting us with not just capital, but a depth of experience and an extensive network along with it. We’re at an important stage in our growth, moving from proving the technology to deploying it with customers across multiple markets, and we’re now focused on building partnerships, product capability and the international presence needed to effectively scale.”
Richard Cooper, Managing Director at Oxford Innovation Finance, said: “Exact Comms is addressing a clear and important problem for facility managers, how to obtain accurate, reliable information about what is happening across their facilities without adding more administration for staff. Its contactless technology has the potential to make a meaningful difference and the company’s growing international partnerships demonstrate the opportunity for the platform to scale across markets. We’re pleased to support the team as they continue to develop the technology and expand internationally.”
This investment in Exact Comms reflects Oxford Innovation Finance’s strategy of backing ambitious, innovative businesses with the potential to transform established industries, further strengthening the firm’s portfolio of technology businesses.
